Speaking with relatives about family history, I am often told to keep this piece of information between you, me and the gate post. Respecting sensibilities, I will share my family stories entwine with historical events from Copiah, Jefferson and Lincoln Counties, Mississippi, from gate post to gate post.

How does Hannah connect to my family?
Hannah married Lewis Durr Kelly.
Lewis brother, Pearly Kelly, married my second cousin 1x removed Arnetta Byrd.
They are looking very serious about it all. Nice photo. I like they way they lean in and touch each other.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you can tell grandma loves her granddarlings.
Deletewhat a great photo!
ReplyDeleteI love it.
DeleteI like how grandmother has her pocketbook--like a lady should have. :)
ReplyDelete...and of course she has some coins tied neatly in a handkerchief, pieces of candy, some safety pins, a comb, and a small round case of face powder.
DeleteOh, of course! How many times my grandmother gave me a "spit bath" with her handkerchief!
DeleteNice picture
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the chair that the grandmother is sitting in. It looks so ornate. I wonder if it was a prop at a photographer's studio.
ReplyDeleteI believe it was a prop of the photographer's studio. I've seen the chair before in other pictures.
