I love family portraits. There seems to be resemblance in the young men, so I assume these are sons/brothers.

Yes, they are the sons and daughter of James and Lydia Herring Freeman. The parents are seated in the center.
I had interpreted that as Allura and Robert, presuming it to be a couple as their names were linked.

I'm so glad I found your blog! James and Mary Ann are my grandmother's great-grandparents. I think I went as far back as I can on the Coleman side and I couldn't find anything on the Markhams until now!
