Old Country Store
Learned, Mississippi

Last summer, the husband and I were out for a leisure drive. We saw a street sign that read Learned. Neither one of us had been there before, so, we decided to take the road never traveled and came upon this store in a small Mayberry-ish like village. I believe the faded sign above the store reads Gibbs and Sons. The store was built in 1892 and is located in Learned, Hinds County, Mississippi. It is about 20 miles west of Jackson.

    1. It is back in time. I thought I could hear wagon wheels and horse hoofs.

  2. Amazing - You don't find many country stores! I see china and hat boxes! Lord I'd love at that store. Maybe next week when I'm in MS!

    1. This store is in my "backyard" and I had no idea it was there.

  4. It looks like a store on a notecard I have from long ago. If those walls could talk.

  5. Great place. Have been there many times over the years. A wonder you got some photos as they are usually upset with people taking photos inside.

    1. My husband and I were the only two customers at the time of our visit. The woman who served our food and another younger woman remained in the back. I think I was finishing with the last one by the time they realized I was taking pictures, and I realized this was not the brightest of ideas.
